Rule # 32- Your Guide

Your Guide by Arsh

Rule # 32

Nothing should stand between yourself and God. Not imams, priests, rabbis, or any other custodians of moral or religious leadership. Not spiritual masters, not even your faith. Believe in your values and your rules, but never lord them over others. If you keep breaking other people’s hearts, whatever religious duty you perform is no good.

Stay away from all sorts of idolatry, for they will blur your vision. Let God and only God be your guide. Learn the Truth, my friend, but be careful not to make a fetish out of your truths.

-The Forty Rules of Love

At least, we all know that God live in our hearts. So why not listen to that? We all have ONE faith and our own Gods to believe in, despite any religion. We believe in certain things and totally trust in whatever we do. That’s what we name Faith. Our guide is our soul. What happens when you break someone’s heart? They get hurt. The place where their God exist shakes. You might say something nice to another person but THE WAY of saying it can be not nice. Whom would you justify to? If the other person tells you that he’s hurt, you’d justify that “oh, I meant to appreciate you.” But can you justify that to Allah Who’s the Supreme of all? Even looking at someone in a different way, just passing facial expressions that are not nice, or through those expressions you make the other person look stupid can be insulting. And it definitely shall come back to you. Your heart is your guide and your heart would never tell you to hurt someone. And those who’ve Imaan (Faith) in their heart can never hurt an individual.

And O, you believers,

Your guide is your heart

Follow that

And it shall Surprise you.

And O, you people,

Do not break that heart

For you shall see it

Coming back to you;

 For what you do

Returns

And trust in your heart

It’s where your faith exists

And your God lives

So why would you break it

For your own self?

O you mortals,

Your guide is your heart.
